Practicing prenatal yoga in a class gives women a place to feel connected, not only to their babies, but to other pregnant women who are experiencing similar changes in their bodies and their lives. That primal connection is empowering, and can help carry a woman through pregnancy, labor, birth and parenting. Sharing life changes and feelings with other pregnant women is an added perk to prenatal yoga class. The physical poses (known as asanas) help to keep you comfortable during pregnancy, and release the pressures your body is experiencing in growing baby. Along with the asanas, breath work and meditation are invaluable in labor. These classes help you build your practice before the “big day,” so that in labor, your movements and breath will kick in instinctively. Prenatal yoga truly helps a woman to surrender to the energy and process of birth and move with it, as the body instinctively knows how.
• Enhance the bonding process with your baby.
• Support the changes you experience throughout your pregnancy.
• Prepare your body, mind and spirit for the birth process.

“Prenatal yoga is a fabulous way of meeting other like-minded moms while feeling you are doing something good for you and your baby. I used the slow steady breathing from yoga all during my birth. And the simple touch of Jaci’s hands during the relaxation portion at the end of class is enough to make your eyes roll into the back of your head — an incredible way to relax, regardless of what happened during your day before class, or what you have to do after class.” ~ Michelle G.
